4 Unique Examples of the Shorthand Sweater from my Test Knitters

My new 'everyday' sweater, Shorthand.

Thank you so much for your wonderful response to last week's pattern release: Shorthand. I absolutely love this sweater (I'm wearing it as I type) and I'm so thrilled to find that you guys love it too!

As usual, today I'm showing you the Shorthand sweaters that my test knitters created to inspire you to knit your own.

I'd like to have shown you all of them, but I'm still waiting on FO photos from some of my knitters. However, the testers below made truly lovely sweaters, each one beautiful and totally unique.

I hope you enjoy learning more about them.

Test Knitting the Shorthand Sweater

Laura

Size: 44

Yarn: Peace Fleece Worsted 75/25 in Bonnie Blue Gap

Modifications: She shortened the body and the sleeves (rejigging the sleeve decreases) as she is petite.

What she liked about the pattern: Pleasingly cosy, not too tight in the neck and the sleeves are slim enough to not make it look like I'm wearing a shapeless bag.

Barbara

Size: 46

Yarn: Barrett Wool Co. Wisconsin Woolen Spun Worsted Weight in Rain Shower

Modifications: She has long arms, so she spaced out the sleeve decreases to give her more length and slightly shortened the body to be hip length.

What she liked about the pattern: I love working on a functional sweater that fits my style and environment. I have already worn my sweater several times which is testimony enough!

Anja

Size: 42

Yarn: Rowan Felted Tweed Aran in 725 Teal

Modifications: She shortened the neck because the yarn was slightly scratchy and didn't have enough of the main colour to knit the whole sweater, so she colour blocked the trims.

What she liked about the pattern:  I like top-down sweaters, the pattern was easy and the rib between the arms is a nice detail.

Mary

Size: 40

Yarn: Unnamed yarn she bought from the market

Modifications: She knitted it without the suggested 6 inches of positive ease, as she wanted it to be close fitting, so she had to lengthen the body and sleeves.

What she liked about the pattern: Quick and fun knit to do! It fits like a glove.
