Gaufre Socks: Colourway Ideas from my Test Knitters
It has been a couple of weeks since I released my free sock pattern, Gaufre, into the world and I have been delighted with the response! Already I'm seeing a few socks on the needles on Ravelry and Instagram.
There were a couple of technical hitches on launch day, but you guys were so kind and patient with me as I worked to deliver the pattern to your inboxes. Thank you!!
If you didn't manage to get hold of the pattern last week, all of the problems with the form have been resolved, so feel free to fill in your details at the bottom of this page and you will get the pattern download sent straight to your inbox!
I had the pleasure of working with the LOVELIEST team of test knitters on this pattern and today, I'm celebrating their amazing work by showing you the diverse range of socks they created.
Colour Palette Ideas from my Gaufre Sock Test Knitters
If you're unsure of what colours to pair together for your socks, have a look through these fabulous projects and get inspired. They make me feel like casting on another three pairs!
Purpley Pinks
Quite a few of my test knitters chose purple/pink shades for their socks and it worked beautifully! I always feel it's a very luxurious colour and what could be more luxurious than a handknitted pair of squishy socks?
Pops of Bright Colour
I wear a ton of neutrals, but I adore seeing my patterns in proper brights! These socks make me happy, just looking at them. The variegated yarns are particularly interesting as this pattern allows the gradient to peek out in little glimpses.
Neutrals
Like I said, I'm a bit of a neutrals girl, so these socks make my heart skip a beat! So classic - I could see myself reaching for these socks year after year. The high contrast in colour makes the stitch pop even more.
What colours will you be casting on with?
Is Gaufre in your queue yet? If so, what colours will you be using in your socks? Let us know in the comments sections and we can all compare notes.
For my next pair, I'm thinking of knitting a pair in one solid colour! Maybe blue. What do you think?
